Our 4th Jam, again at the University Waterfront Building didn’t see as many people as the 3rd event and this was a disappointment. We had some empty display tables and no-shows for the workshops. Part of this was due to the lorry fire on the A12/A14 junction but the guys from Rapid Electronics made it up from Colchester so we are sure that many people didn’t bother and this is a shame.
We had the Introduction and Welcome to the Jam then Vincent’s getting Started with the Raspberry Pi, Keith then did a presentation on The Robot that Taught Me to Code, then a presentation on First Steps Coding with Python, What is Ipswich Makerspace. After lunch we had Making Scalextric even more fun with the Raspberry Pi, Time Lapse Photography with the Raspberry Pi and then How to build a prize winning robot.
We had two workshops running – Node Red – Wiring the internet of things and Beginning Electronics with the Raspberry Pi.
We had displays with robots, Fritz the talking head, Scalextric car counting, simple Python code, making your own games with Scratch, retro arcade games, Quadcopters, fighting robots that you can drive and pop balloons, robot car courses, robot cars that follow lines and much more!
